This Bureau was designed by Gio Ponti in the 1950’s, and produced by the Fornasetti Atelier. Named the “Biglietti Di Invito” bureau, is lithographically decorated with a riot of calling cards and invitations on a cream lacquered base, a rare edition of only three made. Makers mark to the desk.

Piero Fornasetti is a “tour de force ”, a highly regarded figure, and the most important figure in Italian design culture. His work, immediately recognizable on the international design scene, with his wonderful, surreal and intriguing theatrical designs. Upon meeting Gio Ponti, who pushed him to develop his intuition and produce everyday objects enriched by the kind of decoration that would bring art into ordinary people’s homes.
