18thc pastel portrait of an unknown woman by Polish female artist Anna Rajecka (1762-1832) also known as Madame Gault de Saint-Germain rumoured to be the illegitimate daughter of the Polish king Stanislaw August. She went to Paris and studied at the Louvre art school with Greuze & Vige’e le Brun. She became the first female Polish artist to have her work exhibited at the Salon in 1791.
