A rare collection of plaster casts taken from original restoration moulds associated with Reims Cathedral, France, from the collection of French sculptor Charles Auffret.
Created during major restoration works, these casts were formed directly from the cathedral’s historic sculptures, capturing extraordinary detail from one of France’s great Gothic monuments. The original moulds were preserved in the Reims Museum, while Auffret retained select casts for his own collection.
The collection includes a range of subjects, from religious figures such as Eve eating the Apple to beautifully modelled Angels, each reflecting the craftsmanship and symbolism of the cathedral’s sculptural program.

Auffret (1929–2001), a respected sculptor and educator, was appointed consultant to Monuments Historiques in 1977 and later held senior teaching roles at the École des Beaux-Arts in Reims and the École Nationale Supérieure in Paris.
